Bio
Jules has been drawing and painting all her life and has been a member of Ravenfield Art Group since it began in 2015. She has never really found any one particular style or medium that she wants to concentrate on but tends to a ‘scatter- gun’ approach, playing around with ideas and just occasionally something works.
She has a preference for slightly abstract rather than directly representational art and for acrylic, watercolour and ink buts also likes to experiment with mixed media.
She love life dawing and portraiture, believing that having a live subject is a joy and a privilege and she enjoys any film or tv series that concentrates on drawing the human figure and seeing the myriad different ways that artists represent the human form.
She also enjoys organising art exhibitions and seeing the joy on people’s faces when they sell their work.
Jules thinks that you can take art too seriously and worry about ‘not being good enough’ but, for her, it’s a way of relaxing, playing with ideas and, when there’s an exhibition due, settling down to producing some real work.
Holidays are a great stimulus for painting. Here are a couple from a memorable holiday in Seville.
